Obama plans to ease up on restrictions to trade with Cuba

Obama has plans to change the restrictions which were imposed by America in 1962 which were aimed at bringing down Castro's government. Obama has promised to lift limitations that President Bush tightened on Cuba-Americans wanting to visit and send money to relatives. He also says he's open to a dialogue with Raul Castro - something the Cuban president has indicated he would welcome.

Obama reignites flame under Bin Laden.

Obama's People have recently released a statement saying how they intended on stepping up the search for Bin Laden. They feel the Bush administration has dropped the ball on finding him and are downplaying the importance of capturing him as a result.

"We will kill bin Laden. We will crush al Qaeda. That is our biggest national security priority," Obama said during the presidential debate on October 7.

What part will this play in Obama's promise to end the war a bring the troops home?

Obama's Planned Changes. Some more drastic than others.

President-elect Obama's advisers are crafting plans to close the Guantanamo Bay prison and prosecute terrorism suspects in the U.S., a plan that the Bush administration said Monday was easier said than done.

Under the plan being crafted inside Obama's camp, some detainees would be released and others would be charged in U.S. courts, where they would receive constitutional rights and open trials. But, underscoring the difficult decisions Obama must make to fulfill his pledge of shutting down Guantanamo, the plan could require the creation of a new legal system to handle the classified information inherent in some of the most sensitive cases.

Here's a link to the original article.

Obama had his first of many meetings with Bush. He outlined a few policies of Bush's administration which he intends on scraping only hours after he is sworn in. I for one am happy to see he's already making changes to an administration that was slowly but surely falling apart.
